Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a crucial role in addressing various social issues, including women's health and hygiene. Over the years, NGOs have driven initiatives and championed campaigns on the need for affordable sanitary pads in the country. In response to this plea for help, Ohhema Sanitary Pads has introduced a special discount on their products, aimed at supporting NGOs acquire and provide free sanitary pads to girls in underprivileged areas.

Ohhema Sanitary Pads, a subsidiary of La Carte Company Ltd, has announced the appointment of Fella Makafui, the well-known Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, as the brand's new ambassador. Fella Makafui, who is known for her advocacy work and empowering women, will be the face of Ohhema sanitary pad's latest campaign aimed at empowering and supporting women in Ghana and beyond on the need to maintain good menstrual hygiene..

National No Apologies Period Day is observed every year on June 9. For far too long, people who menstruate have been shamed and made to feel guilty simply for having periods. We live in a culture that teaches us from a young age that periods are something that should be hidden and not discussed in public, which is an insane concept considering that half of the world’s population has periods!

Ohhema, subsidiary of La Carte LTD, in partnership with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), donated over 1,500 Ohhema! Sanitary pads to Kayayos in commemoration of the 2023 International Women's Day (IWD). The donation and sensitization program were held under the theme, ‘Empowering Kayayos with knowledge on good feminine hygiene and reproductive health care’.
